Sample Requirements

In order for Kohl's, Inc. to show U.S. Customs that we are using "reasonable care" in our transactions, we need to thoroughly review each product to be able to assign the proper Harmonized Tariff commodity codes, duty rate, etc. Production-like samples may be required for this review and should meet the following requirements:
  • Should be sent to the applicable Kohl's Product Development team
  • Be a production run sample or a representation of an actual production good
  • Must be mutilated by drilling a ¼ in - ½ in hole through the outer sole of footwear or cutting or permanently stamping or marking the words "SAMPLE-NOT FOR RESALE" for all other imported goods
